Expansion joint rubber for road / bridge/Solid Dilatation Rubber
An expansion joint rubber or movement joint is an assembly designed to safely absorb the heat-induced expansion and contraction of various construction materials, to absorb vibration, to hold certain parts together, or to allow movement due to ground settlement or earthquakes. They are commonly found between sections of sidewalks, bridges, railway tracks, piping systems, ships, and other structures (wikipedia)
Bridge Expansion Joint
Expansion joint of a bridge. Expansion joints are used to prevent damage due to thermal expansion of the bridge structure. As the bridge is heated by the sun, the components tend to expand. If the bridge was totally rigid, the components could buckle or deform – possibly leading to structural failure. This joint allows some expansion, the interlocking teeth ensuring that the gap can still be driven over safely.
